We’re excited to announce that Funlab is officially B Corporation certified. This means we’re now part of a global community of businesses that meet the highest standards of social and environmental impact.
At Funlab, we want to go beyond fun by doing good for our people and the planet. It’s not just a nice-to-have; it’s an expectation from our CEO, our Motherfunners, and our board. For us, being B Corp means constantly improving. It’s a commitment to keeping us in check, so we keep doing good while delivering awesome experiences.
B Corp certification isn’t just a logo—it’s proof that a business truly cares about people, planet, and profit for good. It’s only awarded to companies that meet high standards in social and environmental performance and accountability.
Why does this matter?
We don’t believe fun should come at the expense of doing good. That’s why we went for B Corp certification—whether you're enjoying Holey Moley, Strike Bowling, Hijinx Hotel or Archie Brothers, you can trust that we're accountable for our impact on the world.
'Becoming a Certified B Corp wasn’t easy, but it was totally worth it. Now that we’re part of this global movement, we’re committed to raising the bar in the areas that matter most.'
People
We support fair wages, diversity and mental health to create a workplace and community that’s inclusive and empowering—across AU, NZ & USA.
Planet
From energy-efficient venues to working with ethical suppliers, we work to reduce our environmental footprint and promote sustainability.
Profit for good
We're all about transparency, ethical sourcing, and reinvesting profits to make a positive impact in everything we do.
Disabilities aren’t always visible—1 in 6 people live with conditions like chronic illnesses or sensory sensitivities. To support these guests, we’ve partnered with the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program.
In 2022, we launched Sensory Maps to help guests with sensory sensitivities navigate our venues. By July 2025, all Funlab venues will offer sensory-friendly sessions with reduced lighting and sound, plus sensory kits including fidget toys and noise-cancelling headphones.
We embrace cultural diversity and actively create environments that reflect this. In Australia, Traditional Owners' artwork is displayed in venues to support cultural safety for both guests and staff.
We’re building an inclusive and welcoming workforce for all. Here’s how we’re making strides in this area:
In 2024, we raised $332,864 for headspace, Australia's leading youth mental health organisation. Since 2016, we’ve raised over $1.3 million, supporting their online communities and mental health resources for young people.
In New Zealand, we raised $33,289 for Youthline, a key provider of youth mental health services. Our fundraising efforts help to support their critical mental health support and helplines for young people in need.
We recognise the importance of supporting our teams’ well-being, which is why Funlab's people leaders are now trained in Mental Health First Aid to help create a supportive environment for all.
We’re not perfect, but we’re constantly striving to do better. In FY24, we made our first formal commitments towards sustainability, launching our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Strategy.
Aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our ESG strategy focusses on three key areas where we can make the most impact: community, responsible consumption, and climate action. These pillars help guide our decisions and push us to keep improving our environmental footprint.
Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, we’re focused on keeping our team inspired, engaged, and thriving. With our B Corp certification and ongoing initiatives for people, planet, and responsible business, we’re creating an inclusive environment where everyone can succeed.
"Becoming a B Corp is not just a certification—it's a reflection of the values we live by every day at Funlab. This milestone is a testament to the incredible work our team has done, and it's just the start of our journey to make a positive impact on the world."
Michael Schreiber, Funlab CEO.
